Beginning this year, scholarships will be available year-round to support women in the Upper Keys community as they pursue educational and career advancement opportunities. This change marks a pivotal evolution in our mission to empower local women by providing them with the resources they need to succeed, any time of the year.

Why We’re Making the Change

Traditionally, the Holly Given Fund has opened scholarship applications during specific periods each year. However, we recognize that the paths to education and career advancement do not align with a set schedule. Opportunities can arise at any moment, and financial needs may become urgent outside of our usual application windows. By offering scholarships throughout the year, we are better positioned to support women whenever they decide to take that next step toward their goals.

About the Scholarships

Funded by the generous contributions from the annual Fish for Holly Sailfish Tournament, our scholarships provide financial assistance for tuition, educational materials, certifications, training courses, and degree programs. These scholarships are specifically designed for women who demonstrate a strong commitment to their professional growth and community involvement.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Have been a resident of the Upper Keys for at least three years.
• Have at least four years of post-high school work experience.
• Be accepted into or currently enrolled in an educational or training program.

The Holly Given Fund Scholarship Committee, composed of committed community members, carefully reviews each application. The committee prioritizes applicants who show clear professional aspirations and a dedication to contributing positively to the community.
